Hello surfers and ocean enthusiasts! I’m so grateful that you found my work.

I’m a long boarder based out of both México (Nayarit) and also in
the Pacific North West, in Canada (Victoria, BC).

I love surfing a lot - feeling the water on my skin,
being a part of the community, and being held by nature
in such a unique, challenging way.

Me and my long board, which I painted in México at my jungle studio. This is a 9’2 single fin painted with Acrylic, Inks and Posca pens. Board was glassed by my shaper, Miguel Sinclair of MAS Surf.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

In 2021, Mexilogfest came to Sayulita, Mexico, and I decided to participate as an artist in the best way I could - by painting a surfboard. At this same time, I was having my own board shaped by MAS, so I worked with shaper and pro surfer for BING, Miguel Sinclair, and I completed the board you see me with above. I also ran a contest to paint a surfboard, and I showcased that project during the competition. It was great fun, and very rewarding.

That was the beginning of my surfboard painting, and since then, I have painted them for other surfers and for art lovers.

If you’re interested in commissioning me to paint a board for you, please see the most common questions below.

FOR SURFBOARDS TO HANG ON A WALL:

  • I paint wall art surfboards, and boards that can be used in the water. The process is different depending on the condition of your board, namely it's condition and how it was finished. If you have an old board laying around,
I will turn it into a painting for you, or, I can source a board for you.

To learn more, contact me to discuss the details of your project.

  • To start the process, I will need detailed pictures of your surfboard so that I can assess how to prepare the board; creating an empty, clean slate to begin the artwork. This might include ding repairs and sanding, and then prepping the board with the appropriate primer.

I will also ask you to share your vision with me, or, I'll work with you on fleshing out your ideas. Note that I generally paint boards in the style of my art. This will all be discussed once we connect.

  • Commissions depend on my current wait list and schedule. Once I have started the project, it should take up to 3 weeks, plus shipping times (if required).

  • Great question.

I normally work from Nayarit, Mexico, or Western Canada. However, if you live elsewhere we can use a safe and secure shipping process for the surfboard.

I can also source boards from my location and ship them to you once the project is complete. This will be reflected in your quote.

  • Cost depends on the size of your board, the preparation involved and the artwork that we choose for your board. Prices can range from $750 USD and up.

FOR SURFBOARDS TO RIDE:

  • To start the process, I will need details of your surfboard so that I can assess how to prepare the board for painting. This might include sanding, and then prepping the board with the appropriate primer.

I will also ask you to share your vision with me, or, I'll work with you on fleshing out your ideas. Note that I generally paint boards in the style of my art. This will all be discussed once we connect.

  • > Great question! No, it will not change.

I will use VERY light materials and the art will not leave texture on your board. I'll only use light layers of acrylics, inks, posca pens and spray paint.

The difference in weight is barely noticeable, and it will remain nice and smooth - not affecting your performance.

For pro surfers who's boards are affected by even the smallest increment of weight; I can pre-determine any differences in weight, if required.

  • This will depend on your board, but overall, your board will be glassed the same way it would be without my art on it. I only use acrylic based products - these won't affect the final coat.

  • I work out of Nayarit, Mexico, and Western Canada. There are 2 options available:

1- If you're in either one of these places, we can likely meet up and I can collect your board. If not, we'll carefully ship your board back and forth.

2- If you want to purchase a board from a shaper near me, I will collect it from the shaper, paint it, have your shaper finish the board (glassing), and then it can be shipped to you. Shipping is handled very carefully.

  • Cost depends on the size of your board, the preparation involved and the artwork that we choose for your board. Prices can range from $850 USD and up.
