“Kora” SOLD

A Kora is a West African instrument that is closely related to a harp, but it has up to 21 strings and it's built on a gourd. My friend Doug is a musician who plays the Kora after studying for years in Africa where only truly dedicated musicians are even allowed to learn it (true story). He's a master of not only this instrument, but 11 others, as displayed on his albums where he's playing *every single* instrument.

Doug came and played the Kora in my studio one day, and this painting was born from that. My synesthesia was going pretty strong at the time; this is common when I paint to classical instruments.
