"Microbes"

Many of the microbes that exist in the environment are very ancient companions. In the forest, they are responsible for nutrient cycling such as decomposition and nitrogen fixation, allowing plants to survive. Some play a role in preventing “clumping” of trees or plants of a particular species and ensuring their wide dispersal throughout the forest. Fungi - a type of microbe, are present in rainforest soils, forming close associations with tree roots, colonizing them and facilitating the uptake of water to help them grow and helping them transfer carbon.

Microbes interest me. I don’t know what they look like exactly, but here’s an interpretation.
